Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment, until it becomes a memory
— Dr. Seuss

Family, we all got em right?

A bit about me and why this journey in photography is so important to me. When I was 4 our family home burned to the ground when our water heater caught fire. As my mother scrambled to get my brother and I out of the burning house, she didn’t have time to collect all of the things that we take for granted. There were no photo albums saved, no picture frames left and at the time no digital media or platforms. I really didn’t think much of it, up until I started to get a camera every year for Christmas. At first I just thought my mom wasn’t a creative gift giver, then when the yearbook committee asked for a baby photo, and I couldn’t supply one, did I realize that those memories were valuable and something I wouldn’t get back. Now that I am a new mother myself, I can’t tell you how much I would have loved a baby photo or toddler photo of myself to prove that my girls actually look like me and not just my husband. Family photos tie us to the past, but they are not just for us. They are for our children, to look back on and see how horribly we dressed them, how bratty they were, that first missing tooth, a quarantine haircut that went wrong, that family pet they grew up with. These memories will fade as our world gets faster and our lives that much busier, preserve it with a family session, not just for you but for them too.

Some family session examples could be a generational photo with your parents and children, documenting an obstacle that you have overcome, photos with relatives that you don’t get to see often enough, holiday cards or just because. Send me a message, feel free to ask all the questions! Together we can figure out what exactly you want to capture and how we can remember it forever! Thank you for allowing me to be apart of this moment with you.
